Selected Artist: London 2026
Andrea Tyrimos
Cambridgeshire-based artist Andrea Tyrimos works primarily in painting, exploring the relationship between nature, moments of presence and mental well-being. A Fine Art graduate of Central Saint Martins, her award-winning practice is rooted in the restorative power of the natural world and the quiet moments of connection it can offer. Her latest body of work, Drifting on a Memory, explores fragility, resilience and healing through delicate magnolia petals painted onto rusted steel. The contrast between the softness and fleeting beauty of the petals and the strength, decay and permanence of the weathered steel reflects the complexities of emotional experience.
Drawing on personal reflections around mental health, the series considers vulnerability, hope and the ways nature can provide grounding, comfort and a sense of renewal. Her work has been exhibited widely across the UK and is held in both private and corporate collections. She also creates public art installations across London, extending her exploration of nature, memory and place beyond the gallery. Her work has been featured by The Guardian, The New York Times, Channel 4 and BBC News.
