About Fair Play
What is Fair Play Art Fair?
Fair Play brings around 70 independent artists to One Marylebone for four days of contemporary art, live performance, music, artist-led events, food, drink and late-night programming. You can meet the artists, spend time with their work and buy directly from the people who made it.
When and where is Fair Play?
Fair Play takes place from 15-18 October 2026 at One Marylebone, 1 Marylebone Road, London NW1 4AQ.
Who are the exhibiting artists?
Around 70 independent artists will take part. Every artist has been chosen by an independent Selection Committee for the quality of their work. The full artist list and individual profiles can be found here.
What makes Fair Play different from other art fairs?
Artists are selected for their work, not their ability to pay for exhibition space. That opens the fair to artists beyond the usual commercial routes while keeping the selection focused and considered. It also means you can meet the artists and buy from them directly. Around the art, Play brings performance, music, food, drink and unexpected events into every part of One Marylebone.
Do I need to know much about contemporary art?
No. Curiosity is enough. Fair Play is for people who already follow contemporary art and people who are just beginning to look. There is no test at the door and no correct way to move through the fair.
Do I have to buy art?
Not at all. Come to discover artists, see the programme, eat, drink or simply spend time in the building. If something stays with you, the artist will be there to talk and help you understand what buying it would involve.
How long should I allow for my visit?
There is no fixed route or ideal visit length. Allow at least two hours if you want to see the art properly. Stay longer if you are joining a Play event, eating in the Gardens or continuing into the evening.
Can I plan which artists I want to see before I arrive?
Yes. Artist profiles will be available on the website before the fair. Save the names that catch your attention, but leave room for the work you did not expect to find.

How much are tickets?

- Concession tickets are available to over 65s, full time students and those with Universal Credit – proof of concession required.

What does a general admission ticket include?
A general admission ticket gives you entry to the main fair and its exhibiting artists for the date and entry period shown on your ticket. Some Play events are included, while others are free or paid but require a separate booking. Each event listing will make this clear.
Do I need to choose an arrival time?
Please try to arrive as close to the start time of the day you wish to attend in order to maximise your experience. Once inside, you can stay until the relevant part of the fair closes, subject to the re-entry and late-night policies.
There will be no entry permitted to the fair 30 minutes before closing.

- Thursday 15 October (Private View): 5pm - 10pm
- Friday 16 October: 11am – 7pm
- Saturday 17 October: 11am – 7pm
- Sunday 18 October: 11am – 6pm
Can I buy a ticket on the door?
Door pricing will run over the four days of the fair (15 - 18 October), purchasable online, subject to availability. We recommend booking in advance to guarantee entry and access the best available ticket price.
Door pricing is as follows:
- Private View (Thursday + Weekend access): £40
- Day Tickets (Choose your day): £28
- Weekend Tickets (Friday - Sunday access): £36
- Concession (Day tickets only): £19
How do I show my ticket when I arrive?
Your ticket will be sent by email through ARTSVP. Have the QR code ready on your phone when you reach the entrance.
You can also print your ticket or save it as a PDF if you prefer.
I have not received my ticket. What should I do?
Check your junk or spam folder and search for your ARTSVP confirmation. If it is still missing, contact support@artsvp.com with the name and email address used for the booking.
Can I change the date or time of my ticket?
Changes will be subject to availability and may not be possible after Thursday 14th October. Please contact info@fairplayartfair.com to discuss your requirements.
Can I give or transfer my ticket to somebody else?
Tickets can only be exchanged or refunded on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund or exchange after purchase, please contact info@fairplayartfair.com. Please refer to our full Terms & Conditions of entry.

Can I leave and come back?
Private View and Weekend ticket holders can return to Fair Play throughout the weekend. A standard ticket does not automatically include entry to a separately ticketed late-night event. Same day re-entry will be permissible.
Are concession, student, group or family tickets available?

Does everyone in my group need a ticket?
Yes. Everyone attending Fair Play needs their own ticket, including visitors aged 17 and under who are attending free of charge. This helps us manage capacity and entry to the fair.
Do I need a separate ticket for the late-night programme?
Some late events will require an additional booking and may have their own age, entry and re-entry conditions. These will be stated on the individual event page.
Getting Here, Access & Facilities
How do I get to One Marylebone?
One Marylebone is located at 1 Marylebone Road, London NW1 4AQ, directly opposite Great Portland Street Underground Station. We recommend travelling by public transport wherever possible.
- Underground: Great Portland Street Station (Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines) is directly opposite the venue. Regent's Park Station (Bakerloo line) is a 3-minute walk, and Baker Street Station is around 8–10 minutes away.
- National Rail: London Marylebone is approximately a 15-minute walk from the venue. Euston, King's Cross St Pancras and Paddington stations are all within a short Underground or taxi journey.
- Bus: Routes 18, 27, 30, 205 and 453 all stop within a short walk of the venue.
- Cycling: Santander Cycles docking stations and public cycle parking are available nearby.
- Driving: There is no parking on site. If you need to drive, several public car parks are located within walking distance.
Entrance: Please use the main entrance on Marylebone Road, opposite Great Portland Street Underground Station. Event staff will be available to direct you to registration.
Is there parking at the venue?
There is no on-site parking but there are several options within a short walk. The nearest is CitiPark - Fitzrovia Clipstone Street, roughly a six-minute walk away and open 24 hours. Please note that the venue sits within both the Congestion Charge zone and the ULEZ, so please check whether these apply to your vehicle before travelling.
Is there step-free and wheelchair access?
One Marylebone has step-free access throughout the fair, as well as an accessible lift. On arrival, Security will be on hand to assist you with accessing the lift and to confirm the step-free routes throughout the fair.

Can I request help with an access requirement?
Yes. Contact info@fairplayartfair.com and tell us what would make your visit easier. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis. We will explain what is available and work with you on reasonable arrangements wherever possible.
Are personal assistant or essential companion tickets available?
Yes. Personal assistant or essential companion tickets are available for anyone who feels they need one. Please contact info@fairplayartfair.com to arrange this. You do not need to disclose your disability or medical condition.
Are assistance dogs welcome?
Registered assistance dogs will be welcome throughout all accessible areas of the fair. Please contact us in advance if you would like help planning your visit or need a water point or spending area.
Will there be seating and places to rest?
Seating will be available in the Gardens and food and drink areas. Ask a member of the team if you need help finding the nearest seat.
Are accessible toilets and baby-changing facilities available?
The venue has accessible toilets on every level, clearly marked on the Fair Map. Baby changing facilities are available in the women's bathroom on the ground floor.
Will the fair include loud sound, flashing lights or other sensory effects?
The atmosphere will change across the building and throughout the day. Some performances and late-night events may include amplified music, darkness, haze, flashing imagery or lighting effects. These will be identified on individual listings wherever known.
Are wheelchairs or mobility aids available to borrow?
No, there are no wheelchairs or mobility aids available to borrow.
At the Fair
What can I expect when I arrive?
Check in at the welcome desk, collect or open the fair map and then choose your own route. Art fills the main spaces, while performance, music, food, drink and artist-led events move through the rest of the building. Staff will be available if you need directions, access support or help finding an artist.
Will there be a fair map?
Yes. A map will be published online before the fair and available when you arrive. It will show artist locations, programme spaces, food and drink, toilets, seating, accessible routes and exits.
Will the artists be there in person?
Yes. Direct contact between artists and visitors is central to Fair Play. Artists will be present across the four days, although an individual artist may occasionally be away from their space. If you want to meet somebody specific, check their profile or ask the team before travelling.
Can I touch the artworks?
Please do not touch an artwork unless the artist or a member of the team invites you to. Some work may be interactive, and this will be clearly indicated.
Will there be food and drink?
Yes. El Rayo will take over the Gardens, with food from cult Peckham restaurant Guacamoles. Further bars, menus, opening times and dietary information will be cleanly sign posted.
Is there a cloakroom or bag policy?
There is no cloakroom. Please avoid bringing suitcases or large bags. Bags may be checked on entry and must be kept away from artworks.
Can I take photographs?
Personal photography is welcome unless a sign or member of the team says otherwise. Do not use flash, tripods or lighting equipment, and ask before taking a close portrait of an artist or performer. Commercial photography, filming and organised shoots require prior permission from press@fairplayartfair.com.
Can I bring my dog?
Pets are not permitted, with the exception of assistance dogs.
Where can I smoke or vape?
One Marylebone is a non-smoking venue. Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the building or on the grounds – please step out onto the street.
Is there a dress code?
No. Wear whatever lets you enjoy the fair. Some parts of the programme and food and drink offer extend outdoors, so check the weather and dress accordingly.
What happens to outdoor programming if the weather is bad?
The Gardens include covered areas, but some outdoor activity may move, change or pause in severe weather. Any significant changes will be posted on the event listing and Fair Play channels as quickly as possible.
What should I do if I lose something at the fair?
Speak to the welcome desk while you are on site. After the fair, contact info@fairplayartfair.com with a description of the item, the date of your visit and your contact details.
Play: Programme & Late Nights
What is Play?
Play is Fair Play's wider cultural programme. Live performance, music, artist-led events, food, drink and unexpected interventions unfold through One Marylebone, from the main fair spaces to the Vaults, Gardens and Greenhouses. It is not a side programme. It is part of how the whole fair moves.
When will the full Play programme be announced?
The full programme, schedule and booking links will be published in September. Join the mailing list to hear when it goes live.
Are Play events included with general admission?
Some events will be included, while others will be free or paid but require a separate booking. Unless an event listing says otherwise, you will also need a valid general admission ticket for the fair.
Buying Art
I have never bought art before. Where do I start?
Start with whatever makes you stop. You do not need to recognise the artist, name the style or explain why you like it. Take a first look, come back for a second, and speak to the person who made it. The aim is not to buy like an expert. It is to find something you want to keep looking at.
How should I prepare before the fair?
Browse the artist profiles and save a few names that interest you. If you have a particular space in mind, bring its measurements and a photograph. Set a budget if that helps, but leave space for surprise. The work you remember may not be the work you expected to choose.
What should I ask an artist?
Ask whatever you genuinely want to know: how the work began, how it was made, whether it belongs to a series, what the materials need, whether it is framed, or what else the artist is working on. There is no special collector vocabulary required.
How do I know whether a work is right for me?
Notice whether you return to it. Then check the practical things: price, size, materials, condition, framing, installation and delivery. You are allowed to think, ask questions and walk around before deciding. You are also allowed to respond immediately.
Will prices be clearly displayed?
If a label is missing or unclear, ask the artist or a member of the Fair Play team. Nobody should have to pretend a price does not matter.
Why do artwork prices vary so much?
Price can reflect scale, materials, production costs, the time involved, the size of an edition and the artist's experience and wider market. A higher price does not tell you what you should like. Compare the information, ask questions and decide what feels right for you.
What is the difference between an original, an edition and a reproduction?
An original is a unique work. An edition is one of a stated number of works made as part of the same artistic process, such as a photograph, print or cast sculpture. A reproduction is a copy of an existing work rather than an artwork conceived in that format. Ask the artist what has been made, how many exist and whether any more can be produced.
What do numbers such as 3/25 or the letters AP mean?
3/25 means the work is the third example in an edition of 25. AP usually means artist's proof, a small number of impressions retained outside the main numbered edition. The number itself does not normally make one impression better than another, but condition, provenance and consistency still matter.
