Anna McNeil

Based in Barcelona Anna McNeil is a painter whose practice explores empathic connection and how inherent emotional responses become embedded and interpreted within memory. Employing the power of suggestion in subtly abstracted compositions, her oil paintings of figures open an intimate space for reflection through both nostalgic and active interpretation.

An alumna of the Turps studio programme in 2016/17, her work draws inspiration from the poetic moments of everyday life and an intuitive re-appropriation of found imagery. Her paintings are exhibited internationally and held in private collections including the Soho House collection.
