Selected Artist: London 2026
Coco Hewitt
Coco Hewitt is an artist who lives and works in London. She earned a BA from Central St Martins and an MFA from The Slade School of Fine Art. Her large-scale paintings are rooted in the relationship between memory, place and landscape. Initially, her work emerges from a memory of a place visited at a specific moment; the process of painting then takes over.
Her intuitive gestural painterly technique frequently moves towards abstraction, capturing traces of time. Places from memory are re-constructed through extensive layering, becoming fragmented in the expressive use of oil colour built up in a series of layers to create depth, texture and movement. Her work is held in private collections internationally.
