Selected Artist: London 2026

Georgie McEwan

Based in London, Georgie McEwan is an artist working in painting and spatial design. Her practice reimagines overlooked, forgotten, and discarded fragments into surreal, dreamlike worlds that celebrate the poetry of the everyday. Drawn to the quiet rhythms of the built environment, she abstracts and reconfigures architectural forms into works that drift between the real and the imagined – landscapes of softened logic where the familiar becomes unfamiliar and spatial boundaries dissolve into poetic ambiguity. Architecture is at the core of McEwan's practice. She graduated with an MA in Architecture from the Royal College of Art in 2020, and alongside her painting has contributed to large-scale, colour-driven installations and murals internationally, most notably in collaboration with artist Camille Walala.
This fluency in space and colour at scale runs through her multidisciplinary practice and its fluidity between two and three dimensions. In 2024 she had her first solo show, Out of the Blue, at artsdepot, London, and has exhibited in group shows across London, Mexico City, and Berlin, including residencies at Casa Lü, Mexico City, Culterim, Berlin, and Sanctuary Slimane, Marrakesh.
