Scarlett Bowman
London based artist Scarlett Bowman, completed a BA in Classics at Newcastle University before undertaking an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design. Scarlett is a process-based artist, who uses the methods of collage and assemblage. Through a playful engagement with material exploration, her process utilises a wide variety of media such as cardboard, canvas, paper, wool, thread, oil stick, oil and acrylic paint. Highly colourful and tactile, her work is formed by the basic attributes of collage; juxtaposing various parts to make a whole, putting one thing together with another thing.
Work by Bowman is held in various private collections including Soho House Group (London, New york, Mumbai). Scarlett completed a residency at the Villa Lena Foundation in Italy (2017) and was selected for the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation Residency at Thread in Senegal. Scarlett has exhibited internationally, most recently at Home House in London and Gallery 66 in Kent.
