Selected Artist: London 2026
Seana Gavin
Seana Gavin is a London-based artist working primarily with collage. She overlays and conjoins images from vintage photographic material to create otherworldly scenes, transforming them into dreamlike environments. Drawing inspiration from traditional painting, Hieronymus Bosch, Surrealism and science fiction, her work was included in the group exhibition ‘Mushrooms’ at Somerset House, followed by ‘The Art of Mushrooms’ at Fundação de Serralves, Porto, and ‘Fungi in Art and Science’ at the Nobel Prize Museum, Stockholm. Gavin, a graduate of Camberwell College of Art, has also been included in exhibitions at galleries and institutions including The Walker Art Gallery, The Wellcome Collection, The Saatchi Gallery, V1 in Copenhagen and The Hole, NYC.
A number of her pieces are included in the Soho House Group collection. Gavin’s work was profiled in The Age of Collage 3, published by Gestalten (2020). She also published a photography monograph Spiralled with IDEA books in 2020, which was selected as ‘Work of the Week’ by ArtReview. A selection of her collages will be on show at ‘Living Labyrinths: Art and Fungi’ at RAMM, Exeter and her photographic pieces feature in ‘The 90s: Art and Fashion’ at Tate Britain, both opening in October 2026.
