Selected Artist: London 2026

Shelly Pamensky

Shelly Pamensky is a London-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores light, transformation, and the fragile space where doubt and desire collide. Working with reflective pigments, metal flake, and automotive paint, she creates luminous paintings that appear serene, yet are born from tension, risk, and emotional intensity. Born in Malawi and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Pamensky’s earliest relationship with art was shaped by the scent of her father’s oil paints in her childhood home. Although she studied Law in South Africa and pursued a career in finance in the City of London, she later returned to her artistic calling and is now a full-time artist.
Her paintings present calm, expansive surfaces, but their apparent simplicity is hard won, built through layered material processes and an engagement with uncertainty. The works function as contemplative spaces, inviting viewers into moments of stillness, reflection, and quiet presence. Pamensky has exhibited at selected art fairs and exhibitions, collaborated with curators, participated in charity auctions with Christie’s, and her work is held in private and institutional collections internationally, including Morgen & Stern.
