This work uses the artist’s thumbprints and fingerprints to form an oval shape, a recurring motif within her practice and the central resist element in this collection. Ink-drawn faces sit within and around these forms, introducing a sense of playfulness and character. The work holds a tension between whimsy and restraint, where the lightness of the imagery is balanced by a more muted and contemplative palette, creating a quiet duality between personality, memory and introspection.
