A unique Fake Painting from AN_ATLAS, an ongoing investigation into landscapes shaped by ecological damage, extraction and technological expansion. The series carries environmental images and recordings through sound, compression, data corruption and material reconstruction. Fake Painting names painting after the file and AI: the image returning to physical surface with the traces of its transformation embedded within it. AN_ATLAS questions the inherited authority of Western landscape painting through these contemporary conditions.
